History
Founded in 1978 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Multiport covers today more than 130 countries and has presence over 1,800 ports being the largest and oldest network of independent ship agents in the world.
Multiport Membership is established on a Country Exclusivity basis, with one member per country. All Multiport Members are every year scrutinized by an independent organization on both business performance and financial stability, designating only the finest ship agency for each country. Global coverage with local expertise and personal relationship is the strength of Multiport and its members, handling over 130,000 port calls per year.
Founded to restore trust and confidence in the ship agency profession, Multiport as the world’s largest independent ship agency network, represents 8% of the worldwide agency business by port calls. Today, the Multiport network handles worldwide more than 1.500.000.000 cargoes, representing over 3,000 principals.

In addition Multiport is fully geared up to provide regional and global contracts with IT support. If required by a principal, Multiport can accept tenders for regional and global contracts.

Multiport has a zero-tolerance anti-bribery and corruption policy which applies to all our members globally. Multiport will not directly or indirectly engage in bribery or corruption in any form.
Our zero-tolerance approach also means we are committed to the mitigation, deterrence and detection of bribery and corruption to ensure that all our agents always act professionally, fairly and with honesty.
Quality is an integral part of Multiport´s principles. They are essential for the achievement of our ambition to be recognized and trusted to offer our services. This requires all our independent members to be engaged and to understand their responsibility in our organization. Multiport is committed through its HSSE Policy to continuous efforts in order to improve our members environmental performance in all areas required towards a cleaner and safer environment by reducing our ecological footprint and to comply with statutory requirements and current legislation for an effective management and continuous improvement of Health & Safety throughout all aspects of work carried out by Multiport and its members.
The protection of the environment is everyone’s responsibility and all members and employees are expected to understand and adhere to our HSSE policy.
The aim of Multiport and its members Whistleblowing Policy is to encourage members and employees to report any suspected wrongdoing as soon as possible.
Non-compliance or malpractice is unacceptable and will be taken very seriously. All members and employees must report the matter to Multiport immediately so that steps can be taken to deal with it appropriately.
If a member or employee has a legitimate concern and he/she wishes to raise the concern in good faith, it should contact Multiport´s committee to resolve the concern quickly and effectively.
Multiport´s ambition is to protect the privacy and security of your personal information.
All multiport members are required to adhere to all Multiport compliance policies in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This includes any replacement legislation coming into effect from time to time.
